The updating and maintenance of sites is an ongoing affair and here is where our fast effective service shines. We usually do updates the day they arrive or within 48 hours. We charge $35.00 an hour to do the updates. We charge by the hour and for many customers it takes multiple updates before they reach an hour of billable time. We do a lot in one hour!
Content Management
For those who wish to maintain their own sites we offer a first class content management system, that allows one to edit their web pages in their browser (internet explorer only). We install this system on the server and you can log in and change pages, update pages, delete pages, change photos with a Word like interface. We will install the system, load the necessary software on your computer and train your staff to run this cost efficient tool.
Search Engines and Traffic
We design all of our sites to be Search Engine Friendly and can be further optimized to rank high in a particular area. The search engine optimization work, that has been an important function of designer/developers is becoming less and less relevant and more difficult. This is because as more and more sites are added to the internet the competition for placement is very heavy and the algorithms used to figure this placement have changed to use what is called page rank rather than the old keywords and phrases. This page rank relies heavily on links that lead to the site and the words that are used in the linking site to describe the target of these links. The logic behind this is that if other sites think your site is important as a link connected to a keyword or phrase than there must be some validity to this keyword or term. The more sites that link the higher the page rank. The old way was keywords and phrases with keyword and key phrase loaded text, but as this was well known and used extensively the search engines would end up with hundreds of sites that ranked very closely with keyword placement and density. This keyword density can detract from the effectiveness of the site to the individual visitor, as key-phrase repitition and placement can detract from the overall message. The game now is to create link pages and link exchanges and these are growing at a rapid rate to raise a sites page rank. For those who wish high search engine placement, we reccomend a Google adwords campaign, this is a very cost effective way of getting top search engine placement without the games and the continual tweaking of your site to maintain placement. . We run many adwords campaigns and have found them to be productive, with a very high return on investment..
